Replacement of OFDA100 and big discount if you buy OFDA 2000 or OFDA 4000
The OFDA100
instrument is no longer available since several of the components are obsolete.
We keep a stock of most parts but these will run out eventually. The DOS based
PC is becoming harder to find and maintain. Due to the way the electronics
work, it is not possible to run OFDA100 reliably on Windows. The replacement
instrument is OFDA2000 Benchtop or portable. The OFDA2000 benchtop is
recommended for laboratories; it measures snippets on the same slide as the
OFDA100 and also meets IWTO-47 test method. It will run on Windows XP or
Windows 7 and is about 4 times faster than OFDA100.

IWTO Test Method TM 62-10 for OFDA 4000

BSC Electronics and Hornik Fibertech are pleased to inform you that the OFDA4000 IWTO draft test method has been upgraded to full test method at the recent IWTO Congress in Paris in May 2010. There have been some minor changes to the test method, which will now be known as IWTO TM62-10 and will available soon under IWTO Specifications at www.iwto.org/publications/publications.htm . This is good news for the measurement of wool tops since it is the first instrument to measure the important parameters of diameter, hauteur and length in the one operation, and with minimum operator involvement.
